Steve Geller serves on the Broward County Commission, representing District 5. First elected in 2016, he previously served as Broward County Mayor and continues to provide leadership on regional economic development, water policy and strategic planning. He currently chairs the Broward County Water Advisory Board and the South Florida Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) Committee, and serves on the Executive Committee of the Florida Association of Counties.

Before joining the County Commission, Geller served for 20 years in the Florida Legislature, including nine years in the House of Representatives and 11 years in the Florida Senate. During his legislative career, he chaired several major committees, led the Broward County Legislative Delegation and concluded his Senate service as the Democratic Minority Leader. He also served as national president of both the National Conference of Insurance Legislators and the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States.

An attorney since 1982, Geller is principal of the Geller Law Firm, where his practice focuses on zoning and land use. A South Florida resident since 1965, he earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from Florida State University.
