Bob Swindell has served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Alliance since 2009, after joining the organization in 2003 as Senior Vice President of Business Development. He leads Broward County’s official public-private economic development partnership, working to attract new investment, support existing businesses and create high-skill, high-wage jobs that strengthen and diversify the regional economy.

A lifelong Broward County resident, Swindell previously served as president of Champion Manufacturing for 18 years before transitioning to economic development. Throughout his career, he has held numerous leadership roles with business, civic and nonprofit organizations, including the Florida Economic Development Council, CareerSource Broward, United Way of Broward County, Junior Achievement of South Florida and the Florida Atlantic Research & Development Park Authority.

Swindell has been recognized with numerous honors for his leadership and service, including Florida Economic Development Professional of the Year, the American Red Cross Humanitarian Award, the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award and induction into both the Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame and the Broward Schools Alumni Hall of Fame.
