Adrienne Johnston serves as President and Chief Executive Officer of CareerSource Florida, the state’s principal workforce policy and investment organization. Appointed by the CareerSource Florida Board of Directors in 2023, she leads Florida’s statewide workforce development network, helping businesses connect with skilled talent while expanding career opportunities for Floridians.

Before joining CareerSource Florida, Johnston served as Deputy Secretary of Workforce Services and Chief Economist for Florida’s Department of Economic Opportunity, now FloridaCommerce. She championed a data-driven approach to workforce policy, reemployment assistance and workforce training, and previously led the agency’s Bureau of Workforce Statistics and Economic Research, expanding its labor market analytics and applied research capabilities.

Earlier in her career, Johnston held leadership positions with Evergreen Solutions and Brandt Information Services, specializing in labor market research, compensation analysis and workforce data strategy.

Johnston holds bachelor’s degrees in economics and political science, along with a master’s degree in applied economics from Florida State University.
