Dr. Alexia Q. Rolle is Dean of Career & Technical Education at Miami Dade College and Chairperson of the college’s Apprenticeship and Preapprenticeship Program, which oversees the largest portfolio of registered apprenticeship and preapprenticeship programs of any educational institution in Florida. Under her leadership, the program was recognized as an Apprenticeship Ambassador by the U.S. Department of Labor.
Dr. Rolle began her career with Miami-Dade County Public Schools in 2003 as a school social worker before serving as a school counselor and educational leader. During her tenure, she was recognized for reducing student truancy, named Miami-Dade County Public Schools Secondary Counselor of the Year by the Dade Counseling Association and honored by the City of Homestead with the establishment of Alexia Q. Rolle Day.
She has received numerous professional honors, including the Miami Dade College President’s Excellence Award, selection to the Chancellor’s Leadership Seminar, the Miami Dade College President’s Leadership Academy and the Association for Career & Technical Education (ACTE) NextLevel Postsecondary CTE Fellowship. She also serves as Co-Chair of the Florida College System Council of Workforce Education.
Dr. Rolle is a frequent contributor to conferences and policy discussions on workforce development and career and technical education, presenting to organizations including the Florida House of Representatives, the American Association of Community Colleges, the Association for Career & Technical Education and the Association of Florida Colleges.
