Monica Cepero serves as Broward County Administrator, the chief executive officer of Broward County government. She oversees the daily operations of one of the nation’s largest counties, directing a workforce of nearly 7,000 employees across more than 65 agencies, including Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, Port Everglades and the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.

With more than 35 years of state and local government leadership experience, Cepero joined Broward County in 2008 as Assistant to the County Administrator. She was later appointed Assistant County Administrator, Deputy County Administrator and, in 2022, County Administrator.

Before joining Broward County, Cepero served as an advisor to Governor Jeb Bush on local government, environmental and agricultural policy and previously held leadership positions with PBS&J (now Atkins North America). She began her public service career with the City of Tallahassee, where she served in several management roles overseeing public safety, parks, utilities and budget operations.

Cepero earned a Bachelor of Science in International Affairs with a minor in Business Administration and a Master of Public Administration, specializing in Local Government Administration, from Florida State University.
